Mileflat Water Feature

Vision & Architectural Design

When TMW Pond Services was tasked with creating a contemporary water feature that would act as a standout focal point, the vision was to blend modern architectural design with dynamic water movement and intelligent control systems. The result was a bold installation combining a distinctive C-shaped feature with a large rectangular water element, together holding over 10,000 litres of water.

Delivered over an 8-week programme, the project involved the full design and installation of a system that would not only look impressive but also perform reliably day and night. From the outset, the emphasis was on creating movement, atmosphere, and interaction – transforming the space into something far more than a static water feature.

Dynamic Elements & Atmosphere

As the build progressed, the structure began to take shape, with clean lines and geometric forms defining the layout. The water features were then brought to life through a series of carefully integrated elements. A water wall and jumping jets introduce constant motion and energy, drawing attention across the feature, while foaming jets add texture and variation to the water display.

As daylight fades, the installation takes on a different character. Integrated lighting works in harmony with the water features to create an ambient evening setting, enhancing both the visual impact and usability of the space. At the centre of the design sits a floating fire island, providing a striking contrast between fire and water while also acting as a natural social focal point.

Intelligent Control

Behind the scenes, the system is supported by robust and efficient water management technology. A mechanical cartridge filtration system maintains water clarity, while a chlorine dosing system ensures consistent hygiene and water quality. An automated top-up system regulates water levels, reducing the need for manual intervention and supporting long-term operation. To complete the installation, programmable controls were introduced, allowing daily sequencing of the jets and lighting. This enables the feature to evolve throughout the day and evening, delivering a dynamic and ever-changing visual experience.

Completed within just eight weeks, the finished installation brings together over 10,000 litres of water, modern design principles, and advanced engineering. The result is a high-impact, contemporary feature that not only enhances the surrounding space but also demonstrates TMW Pond Services’ expertise in delivering complex, design-led water installations with precision and reliability.
